Wine Tour to Tenuta di Trinoro

Visit the fantastic winery of Tenuta di Trionoro on this cellar tour

Robert Parker has said that Andrea Franchetti's wines of Tenuta di Trinoro from "a remote corner of Tuscany are some of my favorite wines."

Franchetti comes out of a rich family. His great-grandfather Giorgio Franchetti was the owner of the famous palace in Venice, "The Gold House" (Ca d'Oro)

Tenuta di Trinoro was founded by Andrea Franchetti in 1992. the winery is located outside the village of Sarteano in southeastern Tuscany. The area has a very special micro climate and the unique soil that consists of clay, gravel and limestone, are not so different from the Franchetti knows from Bordeaux.

Franchetti planted the Bordeaux grapes, merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and petit Verdot. The result is a series of spectacular wines that have thrilled Robert Parker and the rest of the wine world. Winemaking consists in storage for 18 months in new French oak barrels. His 2009 vintage received 97 Parker Point. Franchetti is a personal friend of Danish Peter Sissick and Jean-Luc Thunevin.
